BEDFORD, NH – State Senator Andy Sanborn, candidate for re-election in the 9th District, today received the endorsement of the New Hampshire Association of Realtors’ Political Action Committee.

“As a strong and consistent advocate for individual property rights, and a real estate owner myself, I am proud to have the endorsement of this great organization,” said Sen. Sanborn. “In the State Senate, I will always stand up for the property owners of New Hampshire, and make sure their interests are represented in Concord.”

The NHAR is the business, industry and public policy advocate for private property rights in New Hampshire. NHAR anticipates, initiates, communicates and provides business resources and solutions for REALTOR members to attain a high degree of professionalism to ethically serve the public.

Sen. Sanborn has also been endorsed by the National Federation of Independent Business, the National Rifle Association, and the New Hampshire Union Leader.

“I’m humbled by the overwhelming support I’m receiving from women all over the District, all of whom I have deep respect for,” Senator Sanborn said. “This coalition will be enormously helpful to this campaign as we get closer and closer to Election Day. It’s clear that the voters of District 9 – both men and women alike – want a State Senator who is focused on job creation, keeping taxes low, and allowing small business to grow,” he continued.

State Representative Laurie Sanborn, Senator Sanborn’s wife and the Chair of the Women for Andy Coalition, said “All of the members on this list are excited about Andy’s candidacy and helping him continuing his important work in the Senate. Earlier this week, New Hampshire’s biggest print newspaper, the Union Leader, endorsed State Senator Andy Sanborn in the District 9 race.

Citing his “extensive experience” as a business owner and his work as a State Senator over the past two years, the Union Leader encouraged the residents of District 9 to support Sanborn “for economic growth.”

The full text of the endorsement is below:

“In the newly drawn District 9, Andy Sanborn [...] brings extensive business experience that has proven valuable in the last session. The former Senator from District 7, Sanborn has a record of supporting policies to spur economic growth, keep taxes and regulations limited, make New Hampshire more economically competitive, and keep state bureaucracies from exerting too much control. Sanborn can be counted on to support pro-growth policies, which are even more important in bad times. He should get the nod in November.”

BEDFORD, NH – State Senator Andy Sanborn, candidate for re-election in the 9th District, today announced the endorsement of the National Federation of Independent Business for his campaign.

His wife, Rep. Laurie Sanborn, running for NH House District 41 (Bedford and Amherst), also received an NFIB endorsement.

“I’m honored to have the endorsement of this great organization,” said Andy Sanborn, “and am pleased to know they recognize that I am the pro-business candidate in this race. The primary reason I got involved in public service was to advocate on behalf of the small business owners who create most of the jobs in our state, and to create an environment for them to flourish and move our economy forward,” he added.

As the New Hampshire Journal reported on Thursday, Mr. Nyquist sent an email to his colleagues at the Shaheen & Gordon Law Firm earlier in the week saying he would “advocate inside the Senate for our courts, our clients and our future clients,” and asking for “substantial donations” to help him do so.

Sen. Ray White (R-Bedford)

Sen. Ray White (R-Bedford), who represented the old 9th District, has endorsed Andy after witnessing the shameful attacks of his opponent.  Sen. White explained in a letter sent out to his supporters and constituents on Monday that while he first intended to stay neutral in the race, the smear campaign of personal attacks launched by Andy’s opponent in recent days has caused him to publicly endorse Andy.

Friends,

Up to this point, I did not want to weigh-in publicly about the 2012 State Senate primary race in this newly configured district 9 (or new district 11 next door, for that matter), as I have always been skeptical of retiring senators who try to “hand off” the seat they are privileged to be entrusted with. However, the recent actions of one of the candidates has become so egregious, I can no longer publicly sit on the sidelines. I am supporting my senate colleague Andy Sanborn in this primary. Andy is a man of integrity, character and conviction and I am asking you to support him as well.

Andy’s opponent recently launched a misguided and illegal push poll, and quickly followed with a vicious, twisted and inaccurate mailing. This smear campaign is beyond the pale, and causes one to ask what kind of representation Andy’s primary opponent would provide for our totally redrawn district if he is going to conduct himself that way to be elected. Politics is supposed to be about ideas and solutions, not personal character assassination attempts. It is everything all of you told me time and again what you find disgusting about today’s political process, and certainly part of the reason I, and my family, did not seek re-election.

How would his opponent feel if Andy went negative on him? Instead of Andy using his time to do that, he has attempted to reach every voter in District 9 on a one-on-one, face-to-face basis, knocking on 100 doors a day for months, as well as conducting positive mail campaigns discussing his ideas and campaign themes.

I know Andy Sanborn. Having worked side by side with him during the past two years, he has shown himself to be honest, solutions driven and he has the values we as bedrock conservatives expect. I also know he is the only candidate who can win in November against a well-funded democrat opponent. Andy has taken the high road, kept focused on how we fix things and offered real world solutions to making NH great. I applaud Senator Sanborn’s bold, outside-the-box ideas.

As a business owner myself, I know how important it is to have business owners representing us in Concord. Check out Andy’s solid conservative voting record. It is exemplary, and often bucked the trend of the establishment in Concord.

The event was a huge success, with over 100 people in attendance and over a dozen candidates for various offices.

Andy did a quick interview with the Bedford Patch explaining why he’s running and the importance of keeping taxes and spending low.

Andy also signed the AFP “pledge,” which states:
