Born and raised in Lebanon, NH, and living in Bedford, Andy Sanborn is a 4th generation New Hampshire native. A graduate of New England College in Henniker NH, he focused his business degree on Finance, Economics, and Marketing. After college, Mr. Sanborn spent 15 years working in the New Hampshire Commercial Lending industry going as far back as Indian Head Bank, and he finished his corporate finance career in Chicago, overseeing a large international leasing company.
Today, along with his best friend and wife of 28 years, Andy and Laurie are involved in several industries, including R & D manufacturing in the automotive industry, real estate development, and financial consulting. Additionally, he may be most notably known as the owner of a local award winning restaurant in Concord called The Draft. He is also on Dean’s Advisory Board of UNH Law and the Presidents’ Advisory Board at New England College. Andy was also on the Board of Directors for the New Hampshire Lodging and Restaurant Association and is active with several charitable organizations.
As a business owner, Andy has experienced so much that is good and challenging in running large and small companies. These experiences have provided him the tools and abilities to confront today’s challenges in Government. While some may simply complain or wring their hands with indecision, Andy has proven an ability to create real world solutions to solve problems.
In 2008 Andy led the fight against the LLC Income Tax and from that was encouraged to enter the world of politics. Now, Andy has been in the Senate since 2010, crafting legislation and working to solve some of the State’s economic challenges, fight for the best education system in America and work to make Health Care more accessible and affordable.
Andy and Laurie love all that New Hampshire has to offer from hiking and camping, to all motorsports and living life to its fullest.
